INDUS VALLEY TERRACOTTA PAINTED VESSEL WITH IBEXES Ca. 2600 - 1800 BC. A terracotta vessel with a rounded body, short neck, and flaring rim, tapering into a gently convex base. The decoration, executed in black slip on a reddish-orange surface, consists of two ibexes with curved horns and short tails, each flanked by a stylised plant and a central sun motif. The animals are enclosed within rectangular registers, separated by panels of vertical and wavy lines. The upper section is framed by a horizontal band comprising a black outline with a red-filled core encircling the neck, while the lower body is bordered by a similar red-filled band, set above two additional parallel black lines.
