INDUS VALLEY TERRACOTTA WOMAN-BIRD IDOL
Ca. 3000 - 2500 BC.
A terracotta figure depicting a bust of a female with exaggerated breasts and broad shoulders. The face is modelled with round, recessed eyes and a small projecting nose, while the hair is represented by a pair of thick, braided locks cascading down both sides of the chest. The torso is narrow, flaring into a broad base.
