INLAID GUERIDON-CHIFFONIER Louis XV style, France, ca. 1870. Probably by Paul Sormani. Amaranth, maple, boxwood, mahogany, satinwood, plane tree, rootwood and other woods, some tinted and engraved, finely and opulently inlaid. Rectangular body on straight sides and curved legs and hoof-shaped feet. The sides inlaid with allegorical depictions of love, the back with a flower vase. The front with a door inlaid with a landscape of ruins and horsemen, opening onto four drawers. The top rounded at the corners, inlaid with musical instrument medallions in a rectangular reserve, lined with decorative friezes and a flower garland, and with a pierced brass gallery on three sides. Fine bronze mounts in the shape of oak leaves with a bow, a flower basket and blossoms. Inscribed Krakow in a barely legible stamp at the bottom. 1 key. 40 × 31.5 × 80 cm. Although the little table on offer is not signed, the quality of the marquetry and the gilt bronze mounts suggest that it was produced in Paul Sormani's workshop. Amaranth, Ahorn, Buchsbaum, Mahagoni, Satiné, Platane, Wurzelmaser und andere teils getönte sowie gravierte Hölzer fein und reich eingelegt. Rechteckiger Korpus auf gerader Zarge und geschweiften Beinen und Huffüssen. Die Seiten eingelegt mit Liebesallegorien, die Rückseite mit Blumenvase. Front mit Türe eingelegt mit Ruinenlandschaft und Reitern öffnend auf vier Schubladen. Das Blatt an den Ecken gerundet, eingelegt mit Musikinstrumenten-Medaillon in rechteckiger Reserve, von Zierfriesen sowie Blumengirlande gesäumt und auf drei Seiten mit durchbrochener Messinggalerie. Feine Bronzebeschläge in Form von Eichenlaub mit Masche sowie Blumenkorb und Blüten. Unten mit einem schwer leserlichen Stempel bez. Krakow. 1 Schlüssel. 40 × 31,5 × 80 cm. Obwohl unser Tischchen nicht signiert ist, spricht die Qualität der Intarsien und der vergoldeten Bronze-Applikationen für eine Produktion aus der Werkstatt von Paul Sormani.
