Of marvellous pictorial quality, with a loose and precise stroke, the author achieves, with little paint, an expressiveness and precision worthy of a master. However, this master, for the moment, remains unidentified. The scene takes place at night, with intimate and moving chiaroscuro, which gives the image an incredibly unnerving atmosphere.
