Italien 1. Hälfte 18. Jahrhundert Venus und Amor Marmor, vollrund und teilweise freiplastisch bearbeitet. Die nackte Venus liegt quergelagert auf einem Bett, den Oberkörper weit zurückgeneigt zu dem sie begleitenden kleinen Amor. Als Künstler ist der Bildhauer Massimiliano Soldani (1658-1740) in Betracht gezogen worden. Der nicht ursprünglich zugehörige jedoch in den Maßen passende Marmorsockel mit vergoldeten Bronzemontierungen ist als wohl römische Arbeit um 1800 einzuschätzen. Füße der Venus und Tuchzipfel darunter wieder angesetzt, Spitze des Tuchzipfels und Zehen des rechten Fußes teilweise verloren. Die rechten Appliken des Sockels mit Beschädigungen. Marmorgruppe 23 x 43 x 22 cm, Sockel 9 x 37 x 20 cm. Provenienz Österreichische Privatsammlung. Venus and Cupid Marble, carved in the round and partially freestanding. The nude Venus lies recumbent on a bed with her upper body leant back towards the small figure of Cupid who accompanies her. The sculptor Massimiliano Soldani (1658-1740) has been considered as the author of this work. The associated but corresponding socle with bronze mountings is presumably a Roman work from the time around 1800. The feet of the Venus and the lappet of drapery below them reattached, the tip of the drapery and the toes of the right foot partially lost. Damage to the appliques on the right of the socle.
