IZNIK POTTERY PLATE Turkey, Ottoman Empire, 17th century or later. Painted in Bolus red engobe, green and blue. With roses, carnations, a tulip and a saz leaf, climbing up out of tall grass. The rim has a stylized “breaking waves” border in black, blue and green. Ø 29.5 cm. Provenance: Private collection, Geneva, since the 1960s/70s. Mit Rosen, Nelken, einer Tulpe und einem Saz-Blatt, aus hohem Gras emporrankend. Die Fahne mit einer stilisierten „breaking waves” Bordüre in Schwarz, Blau und Grün. Ø 29,5 cm.
