IZNIK POTTERY PLATE Turkey, Ottoman Empire, ca. 1600. Painted in bole-red engobe, blue and emerald green in a light gradient. Decorated with roses, hyacinths and carnations growing out of tall grass. The lip with a stylized “breaking waves” border in black. The foot ring is pierced for mounting. Ø 29 cm. Provenance: Private collection, Geneva, since the 1960s/70s. Bemalt in Bolus-Rot engobiert, Blau und Smaragdgrün in leichtem Verlauf. Mit Rosen, Hyazinthen und Nelken, die aus hohem Gras emporranken. Auf der Fahne eine stilisierte „breaking waves” Bordüre in Schwarz. Standring durchbohrt zur Hängung. Ø 29 cm. Provenienz: Privatsammlung, Genf, seit den 1960/70er Jahren.
