IZNIK POTTERY PLATE Turkey, Ottoman Empire, ca. 1620. Painted in bole-red engobe, green and cobalt blue. Decorated with stylized pine cones, the scales decorated in green, edged in red, framed by two stylized saz leaves. The rim with a stylized “breaking waves” border in black and green, the back with alternating leaf and flower motifs in green and cobalt blue. The foot ring pierced for mounting. Ø 25 cm. Provenance: Private collection, Geneva, since the 1960s/70s. Mit stilisierten Pinienzapfen mit Schuppendekor in Grün, rot gerändert, eingerahmt von zwei stilisierten Saz-Blättern. Der Rand mit einer stilisierten „breaking waves” Bordüre in Schwarz und Grün, auf der Rückseite alternierende Blatt- und Blütenmotive in Grün und Kobaltblau. Der Standring zur Hängung durchbohrt. Ø 25 cm. Provenienz: Privatsammlung, Genf, seit den 1960/70er Jahren. Haarriss, kleine Randreparatur.
