At the age of 36, on 4 January 1957, Yul Brynner had just won the Oscar for Best Actor for his portrayal of King Mongkut in Walter Lang's The King and I. His skull was so famous that he had it groomed three times a week. His skull was so famous that he had it groomed three times a week. This gave photographer Jack Garofalo an original idea: to immortalise his reflection in two mirrors, while he shaved with the help of a hair clipper.
