Paris, Fournier 1833; 2 vol. in-8 (207 x 131 mm), midnight blue half calf, smooth spines decorated with gilt motifs and fleurons, cold-stamped roulette on covers (contemporary bindings). Large folded map of India. First edition published by Jacquemont's family after his death in Bombay in 1832.
His journey, commissioned by the Natural History Museum, had taken him to all the major cities of India and then beyond the Himalayas to Tibet, Lahore and Kashmir.
