André Jacques (Paris 1880 - Lovagny 1960), the son of a Parisian sculptor who moved to Geneva, settled permanently in Savoie at the age of 27. A painter, draughtsman and engraver, he spent many years painting and drawing Savoyard subjects, in particular portraits and landscapes set in the Haute-Tarentaise and Haute-Maurienne regions, and around Annecy. An exhibition of his work will be held at the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Chambéry in 2019.
