But these colours are far from being the only ones! Jade also comes in orange, red, yellow, brown, grey and black. The quality of jade is recognised according to three primary qualities. First of all, the colour, which we have already mentioned has a relatively wide range, and is analysed using light directed first fluorescent then incandescent. Then comes transparency - the more transparent the rock, the more expensive it is. Finally, there's the texture: perfectly polished jade should show no reflection on the surface under grazing light.
