JAMES PELLATON - Pocket watch with precious, authentic documentation. Pocket watch in 18K yellow gold by James Pellaton in exceptional condition, accompanied by its original box and a complete and exhaustive documentation, including in particular: - Bulletin de Marche de l'Observatoire Astronomique et Chronométrique, produced in 1937. - Original receipt dated 29 December 1937. - Article "La montre à Tourbillon", hand-signed by James Pellaton in 1941. - Personal letter exchanged between James Pellaton and the previous owner, relating to the purchase of the watch. The watch is in working order and has been carefully preserved since its purchase in 1937, preserving the authenticity and integrity of a timepiece that is almost 90 years old. James-César Pellaton (1873-1954) was one of the most emblematic figures in Swiss precision watchmaking. Director of the École d'Horlogerie in Le Locle, he created complications for Patek Philippe, Girard-Perregaux and Zenith. Doctor Honoris Causa of the University of Neuchâtel, he is recognised as one of the greatest tourbillon masters of the 20th century. This timepiece is a rare and direct testimony to Pellaton's genius, and an exceptional opportunity for any serious collector to acquire not just a watch, but a living fragment of the history of James Pellaton and of Swiss watchmaking.
