The focus seems to have been placed on the movement, the gait or trot (horses). The overall style of the work is demonstrably similar to comparable works by Jan Brueghel the Elder; analogous subjects and compositions can be found in the collections of the Albertina in Vienna (inv. no. 8423), the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge (inv. no. PD.208-1963) and the Städel Museum in Frankfurt am Main (inv. no. 3781). However, the motifs depicted can also be found in numerous paintings by Jan Brueghel the Elder, including "Roadside Chapel on a Hill" (Wvz.
