Copenhagen 1928, p. 80 (with illustration). Janus la Cour was a Danish landscape painter of French descent. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen and travelled Europe several times during his creative career. His travels took him not only to art metropolises such as Paris and Rome, but also to the Swiss Alps, as our beautiful view of Lake Engstlen with the Titlis massif in the background testifies. La Cour is represented by numerous paintings in the Royal Gallery in Copenhagen, among others.
