Japan Mountain, Albert Collection of 3 works. Landscape studies Japan. 1860/61. Pencil on wove paper. 28 x 38 cm. Each located in pencil and with further inscriptions in pencil and coloured pencil. Monogrammed and inscribed in pencil verso, 2 sheets with blindstamp. Showing: Bay view with two boats (Nagasaki inscribed "Nangasaki") - panoramic view (Nagasaki inscribed "Nangasaki (...)(?)" - bamboo forest in Tokyo, inscribed "Bambus. Yeddo". - Albert Berg was a German landscape painter. In the years 1860-62, when our drawings were created, he took part as a landscape painter in the Prussian East Asia expedition to Japan and China under the direction of Count Friedrich zu Eulenburg. - Paper minimally browned and somewhat stained. Good overall. Finely executed pencil drawings of historical and scientific importance. Collection of 3 works. Landscape studies Japan. Pencil on wove paper.
