Rectangular ivory box with lobed corners, with Shibayama-type decoration inlaid with mother-of-pearl, horn (buffalo) and coral depicting on the lid a rooster, a hen and three chicks in front of plants, and on each side a flowering branch (peony, magnolia, prunus, etc.) and an antique object (tripod, mirror, ewer) with insects or birds in flight. Vertical crack with detachment of the edge of the lid, missing inlays, and two to be refixed.
