A Satsuma earthenware tripod incense burner, globular with two handles, decorated with women in landscapes inside two large medallions, on a midnight blue background with a gilt motif of prunus flowers, enamelled mark "Kusube" (for the Kusube Ceramic Export Factory) under the base.

Provenance: collection formed in Indochina by the great-grandparents and grandparents of the current owner, namely André Crochet (arrived in Annam in 1888) and his wife, as well as Juliette Renault (née Crochet) and Philippe Oreste Renault (1881-1934), Director of Offices in the Cochinchina government and Prefect of Saigon. Works preserved and handed down in the family since 1935.
