Japan, Meiji period (1868-1912) A Satsuma earthenware box and teapot, the small lenticular box decorated with women studying on the lid, and a mounting landscape with a temple in front of a waterfall inside, signed Matsumoto Hozan 松本宝山 to the base, and the teapot with lenticular body resting on three small feet, decorated with tea utensils, landscapes, and scene of children in six cartouches of various shapes on a dense background of cherry blossoms, the openwork lid with leaf-shaped grip, Beizan mark 米山 to the base.
