JAPAN - Kaiken, 19th century, the saya scabbard in red lacquered wood, fitted with a koiguchi, a kuri-gata in black lacquered wood, and ending with a metal kojiri decorated with fuki. No sageo. The blue-green braided tsuka handle on a greyish white shagreen background includes a pair of dragon-shaped menuki. The iron kashira is decorated in taka zogan gold with foliage, matching the fuchi with plant decoration. The habaki has a greyish patina and is in good condition. The straight blade with iori mune back is slightly soiled and has fine scratches. Accompanied by its kogatana, the metal kozuka decorated with two shishi on a nanako background and blade engraved with a horimono.
