JAPAN - Katana, Edo Period, the black lacquer saya scabbard decorated with a kojiri and a suaka kuri-gata, the tsuka handle of black sageo weaving on a red-tinted shagreen ground, comprising a pair of suaka menuki taking the form of rabbits, the suaka kashira decorated with weaving motifs, in imitation of basketry, matching the fuchi decorated with a similar geometric motif.
The Tsuba nagamaru gata in suaka with chased and inlaid decoration of a figure brandishing a staff, signed "Jōi" (乗意, and stamp, 18th century).
The curved iori mune-backed blade signed "丹波守藤原照門" (Tanba no Kami Fujiwara Terukado) Blacksmith from Mino province, 17th century and accompanied by the clan mon with suaka kogatana with kozuka decorated in hira zogan with a figure, probably Shina-tsu-hiko-no-kami, wind kami renowned for his powerful breath, signed.

Condition:
