Japan, Edo period Complete suit of armour, comprising: - a suji-bashi kabuto type helmet, slightly akodanari in shape, with forty-eight lamellae, with gilded metal maedate, depicting a dragonfly; the shikoro (neck guard) with four straight brown lacquered blades, laced with blue sugake-odoshi; the fukigeashi bearing a Mon depicting falcon feathers crossed in a circle (kokumochi ni chigai taka no ha); - the Ressei-type mempô, with attached moustache, sabinuri lacquered helmet and mask, imitating iron; with four-bladed yodarekake matching the shikoro ; - the brown lacquered iron cuirass, okegawa-nimai-dô type, the upper blades (tateage) laced with blue kebiki-odoshi ; the seven-sided kusazuri skirt with five brown lacquered blades, laced with blue sugake-odoshi ; - the kote sleeves, in shino-gote iron mesh with small plates; - sode shoulder pads, with shikoro and kusazuri; - haidate, thigh protectors, with small plates on iron mesh. - shino-suneate leggings. With arrows held by a loop in the back, and wooden and black lacquered wickerwork carrying case. (wear, accidents and lacquer gaps). Kabuto dimensions: 38.5 x 30 cm Chest dimensions: 60 x 37 cm
