Japan, Edo period, 18th century Eboshinari kabuto type helmet, in the form of a court headdress from the Heian period, in sabinuri lacquered iron, the mabizashi visor with gold and black lacquered decoration of stylised clouds, red lacquered on the reverse; the hineno-jikoro type shikoro, with five laced blades in midnight blue sugake-odoshi, the small fukigeashi decorated with a Mon; with a gilded wooden maedate in the shape of a tama jewel.
