JAPAN - A lacquered wooden tsuba signed Koma Kansai, of mokko-gata - four-lobed - relief motif of a winged Tengu demon on one trunk and a mother-of-pearl crescent moon on the other side, signed on the ura side 古滿寛哉 for Koma Kansai II (1767-1835), known for his lacquer work. 7.4cm, thickness 8 mm, square red and black lacquered wooden box 12.5cm square.
