An ivory netsuke depicting three oni (demon) fleeing to avoid beans thrown during the Setsubun festival (Oni yarai ceremony), two running and one fallen to the ground, the beans and some eyes inlaid with metal (copper alloy), signed Ikkosai 一光斎in an oval cartouche below (probably Ikkosai Toun 1804-1876).
W. 3.8 cm - H. 4.2 cm; weight 15.94g LdM
One foot, two arms and one finger restored, some inlays missing, cracks.
