JAPANESE Writing set comprising an inkwell and a pair of ormolu and silvered torches decorated with foliage, birds and insects. The lid of the inkwell is topped by a chichi in the round. Work from the second half of the 19th century, similar to that of BARBEDIENNE or CHRISTOFLE, unsigned. Dimensions of the inkwell: Height: 11 cm. Length: 28.5 cm. Depth: 14.5 cm.
