Note: Architect, watercolourist, decorator and teacher, Jean Baes (BRussels, 1848-1914) took part in numerous decorative works and erected temporary pavilions for the Brussels Universal Exhibition in 1880 and for the International and Colonial Exhibition in Amsterdam in 1883. As an architect, he designed the dome of the Palais de Justice in Brussels and the plans for the Royal Flemish Theatre (KVS) in Brussels.
