Jean-Baptiste-Claude SÈNÈ SET OF FOUR STRAIGHT-BACKED CHAIRS in two-tone white and grey rechambered wood, carved with pearl friezes, connecting canopy with rosette, fluted legs at the top, fluted and filleted. Stamped: J.B. SÈNÈ. Séné Jean-Baptiste-Claude (1747-1803) - chair joiner - master's degree obtained on 10 May 1769: Like Georges Jacob, Jean-Baptiste-Claude Sené is considered to be the greatest French chair joiner of the reign of Louis XVI. H. 91 x W. 50 x D. 46 cm. (Reinforcement at the belt, gaps in the reupholstery, small accidents and missing pieces, one chair badly damaged on the front left connecting canopy).
