Jean DESPRÉS* (1889-1980) - France Silver ring consisting of a silver ball surrounded by an interrupted line of 18k (750 thousandths) gold and flanked by two gold semi-circles on either side. The ring has been modified by the addition of silver and underlined by two small gold lines. The artist's mark and eagle and boar head titling mark are both applied. Made circa 1936. A very similar model is shown in M. Gabardi, Jean Després, Bijoutier et orfèvre entre Art Déco et modernité, Paris, 2009, p. 76. Traces of ring enlargement with unevenness.
