Jean DESPRÉS* (1889-1980) - France Silver and 18k (750 thousandths) gold ring with smooth and grooved tubular gadroons on the shoulders. The centre consists of a rectangular setting in yellow gold incorporating an orange niccolo, the material of which has not been analysed and does not appear to be coral (no veins and stippled texture with a magnifying glass). Signature in the body of the ring, master hallmark and crab hallmark on the outside of the ring. Work from the late 1930s. A ring similar to the one shown here was part of Andy Warhol's collection sold at Sotheby's in 1988, as described in M.
