Exceptional graphic brooch in silver (800 thousandths) adorned with a slab of blood jasper cut at a bevel underlined by a rectangle of elephant ivory (validated CITES certificate) and bordered by a triangle in 18k yellow gold (750 thousandths). A triangular shape with gadroons joins the blood jasper. Crab and artist's mark. A similar brooch was part of Andy Warhol's collection sold at Sotheby's in 1988, as described in M. Gabardi's book, Jean Després, Bijoutier et orfèvre entre Art Déco et modernité, Paris, 2009. Produced between 1931 and 1940.
The ivory part has been analysed and received a CITES certificate nr. DE-AC-250812-63 indicating that it is of the species Loxodonta africana (African elephant). Date of certificate: 12.08.2025.
