Bibliography "Jean-Michel Folon, catalogue raisonné des sculptures" (in preparation), Fondation Folon, model referenced under number F313. The sculpture "Un Homme" in yellow stone from Pakistan brings to life Folon's emblematic character, present throughout his work, from his first drawings in the 1960s to his sculptures, not forgetting the famous Antenne 2 theme tune. He embodies a universal figure, a 'Mr Everyman' with whom everyone can identify. Belgian artist Jean-Michel Folon (1934-2005) turned to monumental statuary in the 1990s, first in bronze and then, from 1996, in stone. He chose spectacular materials, often little used in sculpture, such as this particularly luminous yellow stone from Pakistan.Through this highly personal approach to raw materials, Folon seeks to create a dialogue between the sculpted form and the stone.
