JEANNIOT (Pierre-Alexandre) and ARNOUT (Jean-Baptiste). La Savoie à vol d'oiseau. Chambéry, Baudet and Paris, Dusacq, circa 1860. 4 lithographs in colour, 28 x 43.5 cm (image size), in sheets. Beautiful series of four large lithographs in perfect condition printed by Lemerrcier in Paris depicting: 1 - Chambéry, 3 - Annecy and 4 - Sallanches and the Mont-Blanc range by Jeanniot and 5 - The Chamonix valley by Arnoult. The drawings were inspired by Deroy (view no. 2: Aix-les-Bains is missing). Pierre-Alexandre Jeanniot (Champlite 1826 - Vesoul 1892) was a French painter and lithographer. He was a pupil of Diday and Calame and director of the Dijon School of Fine Arts from 1873 to 1879. Jean-Baptiste Arnout (Dijon 1788 - Paris 1873) was a French painter, draughtsman and lithographer. He studied at the Dijon School of Fine Arts before moving to Paris. He is known for several views of Chamonix and Mont Blanc.
