It is a perfect example of Jeff Koons' approach to fusing contemporary art with elements of popular culture and luxury, creating provocative pieces.
This sculpture was created in collaboration with the Dom Pérignon champagne house to celebrate the 2003 Rosé vintage. It houses a bottle of this champagne, symbolising the fusion between contemporary art and luxury. Koons adapted his monumental sculpture Balloon Venus to create this version, integrating the bottle within it.
