Very good condition In 2013, Jeff Koons was commissioned by Dom Perignon to create a special limited edition sculpture to house their 2003 “Vintage Rosé.” Koons recreated his “Balloon Venus Magenta” in a smaller size with a special interior for the bottle. Balloon Venus was inspired by the famous Paleolithic statuette, the “Venus of Willendorf,” supposedly created between 22,000 and 24,000 BCE. The artist’s calculated use of this famous stone-age fertility totem as a highly reflective champagne holder shows his mastery in reinterpreting Pop ideas for a new generation. Koons is currently the most expensive living artist in history. Another example of Balloon Venus was offered at Phillips London in June, 2015 and fetched 74,500 GBP ($117,156 USD).
