Jenny Montigny, a luminist artist born in Ghent in 1875, was the niece of Emile Claus and a pupil of his. She was a member of the artistic association Vie et Lumière. She died in Deurle in 1937 and is buried in the cemetery of the church of Sainte-Aldegonde in Deurle.
