Joan Miró (Barcelona, 1893 - Palma de Mallorca, 1983)  “Miró Album, 19'. Joan Perucho. Booklet with four lithographs by Joan Miró and text by Joan Perucho. With a large dedication covering the entire page: 'Per Odette i Josep Vinyes amb tot l'afecte Miró'. Edition of 1,250 unnumbered copies. Published by Sala Gaspar. Barcelona, 1963.  30,5 x 22,5 cm.     “Album 19” is a portfolio that consists of 19 lithographs that showcase the semi-abstract forms and dreamlike imagination characteristic of his work. Miró developed a sophisticated system of symbols and icons that lasted for several decades, and this album is a prime example of his stylistic evolution, ranging from thin, delicate lines to more abstract and simplified forms. The work was presented at the Sala Gaspar in Barcelona in 1963, and an original color lithographic poster was published for the exhibition. Miró's creative process, influenced by surrealist automatism, involved the use of sketches, found images, and fragments of text as a starting point, allowing the marks to dictate both the formation of the image and the direction of the next work.
