Lot no. 334
JOHN LENNON (1940-1980). DOUBLE-SIDED SKETCHES. Two astonishing pencil sketches on either side of a sketchbook page, executed by John Lennon during his first year at Liverpool Art School, including a slim percussionist with a shovel-shaped foot and, on the reverse, various musicians with multiple eyes and strange limbs playing different instruments. The images are quite surreal and express Lennon's rebellious personality during his short time at school. With a few folds and tears that have been glued back together. A very rare item. 24 x 15.5 cm Provenance: Stanley Gibbons 03.09.2010
