Large folio, green half-chagrin (Binding circa 1850). Very rare complete first edition of "the first large-scale iconographic work devoted to Corsica" (Musée de la Corse). The work was published in twelve issues, each containing four plates and an explanatory leaflet, plus a brief note on Corsica. It contains 48 views of landscapes and sites on the Isle of Beauty, drawn and lithographed by Adrien Joly-Delavaubignon and printed by Godefroy Engelmann. A rare copy complete with all 48 lithographs. There is no title page. Quite pronounced foxing and stains. Missing corners and foot of the first leaf of text. Minor rubbing to the binding. Attached is an original pencil drawing by the author: Vue prise à Ajaccio en regardant les montagnes du Nord, le 28 août 1819, N°3 (30 x 46 cm), from the Bibliothèque corse d'un amateur (Ajaccio, 2007, n°1192).
