A rare bedroom furniture set designed by the noted Czech architect Josef Gocár. Manufactured by the PUD (Prague Art Workshops). This example of Gocár’s early Cubist work comes from the villa of the well-known Czech historian Professor Julius Glücklich. His Functionalist villa in Prague–Baba (Na Babe 2, Jarní 1798/3 ) was designed by Gocár and built in 1934, but it is believed that Professor Glücklich furnished the villa with Gocár furniture that he had already owned.
