Straddling two centuries and several influences, Tamburini trained in Barcelona and then in Paris with Léon Bonnat, and in Rome, where he was seduced by the work of Mariano Fortuny. In addition to his Symbolist work with Pre-Raphaelite influences, the artist devoted himself to more realistic genre scenes, such as our attractive panel depicting the intimacy of a studio. A renowned painter and illustrator, he was also a literary critic and poet with the Renaixença Catalan literary movement.
