Described in the Alexis Rodier cast book as having been executed on 11 March 1930, and then exhibited four years later in Amsterdam, the present sculpture appears to be a rediscovery. In fact, it remained unlocated and with dimensions not listed in the 2007 catalogue raisonné by Mr Félix Marcilhac. Documented by a Marc Vaux photograph and the Csaky photographic archives (AC.63), this bronze is a precious example of Joseph Csaky's art at the dawn of the 1930s.
