Presented in a brass frame surmounted by a ribboned bow and forming an easel (Alphonse Giroux). On the reverse: "miniature having belonged/to Madame Bertin de Veaux/née Augustine Boquet. Signed Bouton". According to a more recent label, the woman depicted was the mother of Françoise Boquet, who later became Françoise Merlin. Sight: 7.3 cm (Minor chips).
