At the Salon of 1755, Vien exhibited under the same number Buste d'une vestale couronnée de roses, Prêtresse tressant une couronne de fleurs and Prêtresse brodant pour l'ornement d'un temple1. A sketch for the Prêtresse brodant pour l'ornement d'un temple and preparatory drawings for the three paintings in the Salon of 1755 are in the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Béziers2.
