Jules DUPRE (1811-1883) "Thatched cottage by the road", oil on canvas laid down on cardboard, monogrammed lower left Dim. 24 x 35 cm This work is similar to no. 281 (reproduced on p. 159) in the artist's catalogue raisonné by Madame Marie-Madeleine Aubrun (Léonce Laget éditeur, 1974), which indicates that the landscape was painted around 1860 ("Dramatisation du paysage, ciel de tempête, facture rugueuse"). A certificate from Mr Michel Rodrigue, the artist's expert, will be given to the buyer.
