JULES WIESE - YEARS 1855-1860 ENAMEL BIRDS AND IVY BRACELET Bracelet adorned with lapis lazuli plaques decorated with birds in vermeil and 18K yellow gold. Each rectangular link bears a different design of birds pecking the fruits of ivy. Framed by a frieze of interlacing and arabesque pilasters set with a round amethyst and small pearls. Gross weight: 64.37 gr. Size: 15.7 x 3.3 cm. Antique case in the shape (the case needs to be restored). Provenance: Acquired by collectors, at public auction in the 2000s. Reference: HELLMUTH Silke, Jules Wiese und sein Atelier, Ed. Nicolai, 2014. This bracelet is reproduced on page 197, with the same theme of birds united by love. THE NEW ROMANTICISM From the studio of his master François-Désirée Froment-Meurice to his own workshop, Jules Wiese made the charming decorative motifs of birds in high relief his own. A lapis lazuli, enamel, gilded-silver, amethyst, natural pearl and 18K yellow gold bracelet by Jules Wiese, circa 1855-1860. Gross weight : 64,37 gr. Dimensions : 15,7 x 3,3 cm. Original box. Provenance: Acquired by collectors, at public auction in the 2000s.
