Julio Le Parc is an Argentinian artist, naturalised French since 1968, who focuses on both modern op art and kinetic art. A founding member of the Groupe de Recherche d'Art Visuel (GRAV), he received the Grand Prize for painting at the 33rd Venice Biennale in 1966 and the Konex Prize from Argentina in 1982 and 2022. The work belongs to the 'Modulation' series, on which Le Parc has been working since the early 1970s, and is indeed quite early (the number 327 indicates the position in the series, which had reached number 1160 by 2004).
