Louis XVI style, Paris around 1850/60, the case signed P. Sormani Paris (Paul Sormani, 1817-1877). In the style of Robert Osmond (Master 1746).
Gilt bronze. Architectural case on a bastion base and crushed ball feet. The upper section with an arched finial and flanked by hinges. Decor in the form of acanthus leaves, laurel garlands, decorative friezes, tendrils and a cockerel. Flamed vase top. White enamel dial with Roman numerals for hours and Arabic numerals for minutes. Gilt, pierced hands. Parisian movement with half-hour strike on bell. Plate marked Pons Medaille d'or Paris 1827.
