He then went on a five-month study trip to Italy. He was a member of the Vienna Künstlerhaus from April 1, 1931. Borschke created post-impressionist portraits, such as the 1911 Portrait of the Old Man, as well as historical illustrations and mythological paintings. He is also the author of various books.
