Karl Kluth (1898 Halle/S. - 1972 Hamburg) Reclining female nude on the beach Expressive, dynamic work by Kluth, who studied at the Karlsruhe Academy under Albert Haueisen and was a master student of August Babberger. In 1922, he moved to Hamburg and became a member of the Hamburg Secession. In 1929 and 1934, the artist travelled to Edvard Munch for a collaboration. Later, his works were labelled "degenerate art" by the "Third Reich". Mixed media/cardboard. R. u. monogr. and dat. (19)46. 39.8 cm x 50.6 cm. Mixed media on cardboard. Monogrammed and dated (19)46.
